Whoopie! (pies)

Well, it's almost 9pm on a Sunday and, whilst Paul has hijacked my ipad trawling ebay to buy himself a quad bike(mid life crisis, me thinks), I have just sat down after a very, very busy day. Had to be up at 6.30 am (on  a Sunday!!!!!), go to a farmers market, finish the market and drive home for over 30 minutes, rest for an hour, cook dinner, eat dinner and get baking again-this time a few cupcakes and choc chip whoopie pies-I am S H A T T E R E D!!!!
Lucky I love baking!
Anyway, I have put one of my plans for the new year into action, I have bought an edible printer (not a printer you can eat, a printer that prints edible pictures) and so far so good, I think it's a good little investment.
The other plan for this year is still a little secret, i shall reveal all in due course.
Already had a provisional booking for a wedding in August so today's market was worth doing. I don't like to think I stand there freezing for no reason.
Right, looks like the quad bike has been purchased( I might even have a little go myself), I'm going to treat myself to some popping candy-my new addiction...I like to live on the edge!

Well, the holiday season is(almost) over

It has been reasonably busy, almost forgot about 2 different orders but all's well that ends well!
Onwards and hopefully upwards from here, there are a few things in the pipeline and it will be very good news for Missi's cakes if any of them come true.
Very proud of my last cake, will put a pic later-the lady wanted a girly fashion themed cake and told me to go for it, make it over the top-so I did!
Ordered lots of new moulds as I'm desperate to start practicing the ideas from all the cake books Santa got me for Christmas. Exciting new cupcake designs to come!
Donated another batch of cupcakes to Keech children's hospice and I got invited to do a cupcake decorating class with the children some time this year, looking forward to that very much.
Off to play(read-'to work out how to use') my new ipad now!

lots and lots of cakes

Well the weekend was a bit manic but I survived! I don't think I will actually have time for Christmas this year-guess I'll just have to get really organised.
Made a few cakes last weekend-a swimming pool cake, double choc square, barbie doll cake, number 21 cake, SATC cake, giant cupcake and lots of cupcakes-oh and a Harry Potter style castle cake for 5yr old twins(they loved it)...
Take a look at my recent photos on my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=469224515717&set=a.462690290717.255090.183959930717#!/album.php?aid=255090&id=183959930717

As if I haven't already got enough to do I have just made some giant cookies, 9 inch ones to be precise! Paul had a little taste and I think they pass the test. Better go and wash up now!

Let it snow, let it snow.....but somwhere else(please)

I am actually getting quite stressed about not being able to deliver orders if it snows a lot-and IT'S ONLY NOVEMBER!!!!!
So what have I done in the last few days...Harpenden Carnival was a success but it was soooo cold, I couldn't wait to get home, have a warm shower and sit in front of our open fire-where I am right now as it is...
I have donated some cupcakes for the little stars at the Keech hospice in Luton, will be doing some more for their Christmas party in December.
Got to stock up on ingredients tomorrow although, knowing me, I will forget something! Looking forward to doing some different cakes this weekend.

Zzzzzzz...

Feeling quite tired now, got an early delivery in the morning so this won't be a long one.
Still waiting for some parcels so I can start experimenting with different cakes. Made a few orders today, the 'New Baby boy' cake looks very nice, I just love the baby moulds!
I've even managed to do some savoury cupcakes-olive and feta cheese for one batch and added some ham pieces to the other batch so we'll see what the taste test verdict will be tomorrow...
Oh, I just hope we don't get ANY snow, it would make my deliveries impossible. That's it from me, off to sleep now

wow, what a weekend!

Still recovering from a busy weekend of baking, selling and freezing(myself, not the cakes)! I think I have easily made and sold 600 cupcakes over the weekend but it's funny how that doesn't make me rich! Selling 600 for £1.00 each you'd think you'd earned £600 but unfortunately once the overheads have been taken off the final figure is much less(read half) than that...
I am really looking forward to getting my huge cupcake mould and trying it out, just hope it doesn't take hours to bake. Slowly getting in some Christmas decorations too and I'm about to start some different savoury cupcakes as well.
Have and idea for a very exciting little project but not sure if it's viable until I've made a few phone calls...I'll keep you posted...X

Emotional day

It would have been my dad's birthday today so I felt rather emotional-couple that with the BBC Children in Need I'm watching and I really feel like an emotional wreck.
Still, ,managed to bake decorate and pack 350 cupcakes and a birthday cake so quite a productive day all in all.
Another busy baking day tomorrow, a few exciting new things that I would like to try out so all be revealed.
Off to ring in with my donation to Children in Need, then bed......Night all.xx
